Wishing Luck to Springfree Ambassador at the London Olympics!!

We are less than two weeks away from the biggest sporting event in the world: the Olympic Games!

Springfree Trampoline is a proud sponsor of world class trampoline athletes. We’re looking forward to cheering on our athlete ambassador, Steven Gluckstein, as he heads off to London, England to compete on behalf of the United States.

Steven is the current U.S. national champion in trampoline. London 2012 will be Steven’s first appearance at the Olympics.

You may have heard about Steven’s journey to the Olympics in the news as his fiercest competitor was his own brother, Jeffrey Gluckstein, who is also an accomplished trampoline athlete as the 2011 U.S. national champion. Jeffrey won’t be competing in London but he will definitely be in attendance, cheering on his older brother.

If it’s your first year watching Olympic trampoline gymnastics, here’s a brief explanation of what you can expect.

Trampoline at the Olympics consists of two rounds: qualifications and finals.

In the qualification round, 16 athletes each perform two routines: one compulsory and one optional. The scores for both routines are tallied and the top 8 athletes move onto the finals.

In the final round, the world’s top 8 athletes give their all and perform a single optional routine to impress the judges on three criteria: degree of difficulty, execution and flight time (a new element added to the 2012 Olympics).

Be sure to tune in during the Olympics to support the athletes and the sport of trampoline!

Men’s trampoline (qualifications & finals) – Friday, August 3, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. EST

Women’s trampoline (qualifications & finals) – Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. EST

Will you be watching?
